CORRELATION OF HOWARD GARDNER'S MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE THEORY WITH THE CONCEPT OF FITRAH IN ISLAM

Abstract

This article examines the relationship between Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligence and the concept of fitrah in Islam. This study was conducted to explain the importance of understanding that there is a connection between the concept of multiple intelligences studied by Howard Gardner and how the concept of fitrah exists in Islam. This research is a library research where data is obtained through documents which are analyzed by content analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between the multiple intelligence theory proposed by Howard Gardner and the concept of fitrah in Islam. This can be seen in the relationship when correlated with Gardner's concept, the bodily fitrah includes kinesthetic, musical and interpersonal intelligence. The fitrah aqliyah includes mathematical logic, language and visual intelligence. While spiritual nature includes intrapersonal, naturalist and existential intelligence
